Ed Hall

Coach Hall is truly one of the legends of Bay Area football.  Entering his 42nd year of coaching (28 of those at the Community College or Div. 1 level), coach Hall's experience is unrivaled among Community College coaches.  Coach Hall and coach Darr have worked together for 14 seasons devising multiple, aggressive defensive schemes.

Coach Hall has had two separate stints as an assistant coach at UC Berkeley, coaching the defensive line and linebackers, respectively.  He was also the first football coach at De La Salle High School, where he led the Spartans from 1971 - 1978.  After his first tenure at Cal, coach Hall became the head football coach at Diablo Valley College from 1983 - 1994 where he led the Vikings to several conference championships, Bowl appearances and the school's only undefeated season.  Coach Hall has had a tremendous influence on the leadership of football in the Bay Area, with many of his former players moving on to become coaches after their playing days.  Coach Darr was just one of several players that were influenced to make such a move from that undefeated 1989 team. Four members of DVC's coaching staff have played for coach Hall

Coach Hall has been directly responsible for hundreds of young men continuing their playing careers at the next level.  More importantly, he has played an integral role in the character all of his players develop, as they build the foundation of their lives.
