David Garcia
Coach Garcia enters his fourth year with the Vikings as the Offensive Line Coach. Prior to coming to DVC, Garcia coached the offensive line at Los Medanos College. A native of Pleasant Hill, David graduated from College Park High School in 1998. He started playing football his Junior year of high school and received All-Conference honors in both his Junior and Senior year. David went on to play for Coach Darr at Los Medanos and earned All-State honors after his Sophomore season. Receiving his AA in Liberal Arts, David accepted a full scholarship to Fort Hays State University where he was a two-year starter while studying Criminal Justice. David received All-Conference honors after his Senior season, where he anchored an offensive line that was one of the top rushing teams in the country.
In just his first year with DVC, his offensive line led the second ranked rushing offense in the state, with four sophomores and a freshman(Dononvan Edwards - Cal) receiving scholarships. Replacing an entire O-Line with a young and inexperienced group, he followed his inaugural season by anchoring the state's second ranked offense. In 2009 both offensive tackles received Division 1 scholarships
David and his wife Tara Scarrow have been married for 4 years and reside in Walnut Creek.
