Vikings visit Woodside Elementary in Concord

The Vikings ended the spring semester by giving back to the community as they visited Woodside Elementary in Concord. This was the fourth visit the DVC football players have made to local elementary schools and was, once again, enjoyed by everyone involved.

The Viking Reading Program has been a huge success and has continued to grow over the past two years. The team brought 20 players to Woodside and visited every kindergarten and first grade classroom.

The players fielded questions from the classes about football, school, their families and "What's your favorite animal?" They talked about the importance of school, dedication to their dreams and doing the right thing. The players then followed their own advice and read several books to the classes.

After the reading, all the classes went to the field to go through some football drills, have a tug of war against the players and chase DVC's version of Corbin Bleu, our own look-a-like Dominic Pardini.

The day ended with smiles, high-fives, autographs, snack time and another example of Vikings being champions on and off the field!
